Ha Long Bay or Lan Ha Bay?

They are neighbouring bays with the same limestone scenery. Ha Long has the famous caves and more boats. Lan Ha is quieter, with clean lagoons and better kayaking.

Our 5-star cruises visit both, so you do not have to choose.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do I need for the Ha Giang Loop?

Three days is enough to see the main highlights, including the Ma Pi Leng Pass, Dong Van and Lung Cu. Choose four days for a slower pace with a boat trip on the Nho Que River, or two days if you are short on time.

Do I need a motorbike licence for the Ha Giang Loop?

Not if you ride with an Easy Rider, because a local rider drives for you. To drive yourself, you need a valid motorbike licence recognised in Vietnam and travel insurance that covers motorbike riding.

How do I get from Hanoi to Ha Giang?

Ha Giang City is about 6–7 hours by road from Hanoi. We can arrange bus or limousine transfers from Hanoi, Sapa and Ninh Binh when you book your tour.

What is the difference between Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay?

They are neighbouring bays with the same limestone scenery. Ha Long Bay has the famous caves and more boats, while Lan Ha Bay is quieter, with clean lagoons and good kayaking. Our 5-star cruises combine both.

Is a day trip or an overnight cruise better?

A day trip works if you are short on time. An overnight cruise lets you see the bay at sunset and sunrise, reach quieter areas and enjoy kayaking and swimming without rushing.

Can I combine Ha Giang and Ha Long Bay in one trip?

Yes. Many travellers ride the Ha Giang Loop first and then join a cruise. We arrange transfers between Ha Giang, Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay.

How do I book a tour with Zgo Travel?
