Hoi An has been voted the 4th most beautiful city in the world.
Hoi An is Vietnam’s sole representative honored by Travel & Leisure in two categories: the World’s Best City and Best in Asia for 2024.
According to the annual World’s Best Awards announced in July by the American travel magazine Travel & Leisure, Hoi An ranks 4th among the 25 most beautiful cities in the world for 2024, scoring 90.67 out of 100 points. It follows San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Udaipur in India, and Kyoto in Japan.
In the top 25 most beautiful cities in Asia, Hoi An ranks 3rd, following representatives from India and Japan.
In the eyes of international tourists and travel experts, “it comes as no surprise to see Hoi An on the list.” Besides being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its Ancient Town, Hoi An is also renowned as a culinary destination with dishes like Cao Lau and Banh Mi, as well as being a favorite among history enthusiasts. Conveniently located 30 km from Da Nang International Airport, Hoi An is easily accessible for visitors.
The World’s Best Awards aim to celebrate destinations, hotels, airlines, and exceptional services in the travel industry. This year, the awards garnered over 700,000 votes.
Cities are evaluated based on criteria such as landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness of locals, shopping options, and overall value to travelers. Readers rank each criterion as excellent, above average, average, or poor. A city’s total score is the average of these rankings across the four criteria.
The awards are likened to a guidebook helping travelers discover destinations with excellent services for future trips.
Previously, Phu Quoc Island also appeared on Travel & Leisure’s list of the 25 most beautiful islands in the world. In the category of the top 10 best hotels in the world, Vietnam was represented by Alma Resort, ranking 9th.
